Biography

Alan Hawxby, MD, FACS, is a board-certified transplant surgeon who sees patients for kidney failure, liver failure, biliary disease, bile duct injury, and cancers of the liver and pancreas. Dr. Hawxby believes transplantation is the best way to restore health and change lives. He wants his patients to know that the AdventHealth Transplant Institute has the expertise, personnel and tenacity required to get patients transplanted safely, yet rapidly, and with the highest quality.
Dr. Hawxby received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma and undergraduate degrees from Oklahoma State University and the University of Missouri. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Missouri Kansas City and a fellowship in abdominal transplant surgery from Johns Hopkins Hospital.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Hawxby likes to hike, camp, play guitar, ski, read and attend sporting events.
