Biography

Amay Parikh, MD, MBA, MS is a board-certified Internist, Nephrologist, Intensivist (Critical Care), and Neurointensivist in Orlando, Florida. He graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in 2005. Prior to medical school, Dr. Parikh obtained both his bachelor’s and Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University. He completed fellowships in Nephrology and Critical Care from New York Presbyterian-Columbia. Dr. Parikh now practices at AdventHealth Orlando where he serves as the medical director of the Neurologic and Neurosurgical ICU. Dr. Parikh is the associate program director of the AdventHealth Neurocritical Care Fellowship. Dr. Parikh has spoken nationally on topics ranging from Renal replacement therapy in the geriatric population to ICU staffing needs. He authored a review article on the economics of renal failure in the ICU setting. He has also authored and edited chapters on Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis for The Netter Collection of Medical Illustrations: Urinary System (Volume 4). He was an assistant clinical professor at the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine and now serves as an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Parikh is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrologists and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Parikh's research interests include extracorporeal organ support and extend to critical care.
