Dr. Zahid Amin joined our group from Children’s Hospital of Georgia, where he was endowed chair and section chief in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. A recognized authority in his field who regularly lectures and teaches internationally, his primary focus is on interventions in pediatric and adult structural heart disease, hybrid procedures and percutaneous valve replacement, and the periventricular technique for septal defect closure that he helped pioneer. In 2017, he was awarded the title of Master Interventionalist by The Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). Dr. Amin completed consecutive fellowships in adult and pediatric cardiovascular surgery at the Texas Heart Institute, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Miami Children’s Hospital followed by a pediatric residency at the University of Missouri and additional fellowships in pediatric cardiology and pediatric interventional cardiology at the University of Minnesota, Northwestern University, and University of California in San Francisco.
