DREAM: Diabetes RElated to Acute pancreatitis and its Mechanisms (DREAM). An observational cohort study from the Type 1 Diabetes in Acute Pancreatitis Consortium (T1DAPC)



Study Purpose: The purpose of this research study is to find out how many people with acute pancreatitis develop diabetes. Risk factors for diabetes and the types of diabetes that occur after acute pancreatitis will also be studied. A small number of people who already had diabetes before their acute pancreatitis attack will be enrolled for comparison.

Study Duration: 5 years

Study Commitment: One screening visit and up to 8 more visits

Age: 18-75 Years old

Sex: Male and Female

Conditions/Eligibility: Diagnosis of Acute Pancreatitis (AP) 0 - 90 days prior to enrollment date

Study Procedures: Medical and medication history, height, weight, BMI, measurement of waist circumference, screening labs, urine screen (pregnancy test), MRI, Questionnaires, Metabolic Testing, Blood and stool sample collection
