Get to Know Our AdventHealth Research Institute
Every innovation and new technology in health care is made possible through in-depth studies and clinical trials. At AdventHealth Research Institute locations across the AdventHealth network, we have more than 600 investigators and more than 500 clinical trials in progress at any given time. We’re home to over a dozen research areas and the Nicholson Center, and are part of the extensive AdventHealth network in Florida.
AdventHealth ranges from the Tampa Bay area in the west to the Daytona Beach area in the east. It includes 30 hospitals, more than 30 Centra Care urgent care centers, dozens of sports rehab and imaging centers and hundreds of physicians, ranging from primary care to a full spectrum of specialties.
AdventHealth Tampa
AdventHealth Tampa, one of the West Florida Division’s most robust campuses, has been serving the Hillsborough County community since 1966. The hospital brought many medical “firsts” to the area, and its research institutes are constantly working on new ways to treat, heal and cure.
Getting care at AdventHealth Tampa means access to the latest research studies, procedures, and technologies, including access to medical, surgical and device-related clinical trials that aren’t widely available.
The Dr. Kiran C. Patel Research Institute, located at AdventHealth Tampa, is involved in numerous clinical trials in diverse areas such as stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine, cardiovascular care, cancer and digestive health.
AdventHealth Orlando
AdventHealth Orlando, the Central Florida Division’s flagship campus, serves both as a community hospital and as a major tertiary referral hospital for the region, much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and Latin America.
AdventHealth Orlando is a designated statutory teaching hospital and trains physicians from around the world on the newest technology and procedures. The system provides a wide range of health services, including many nationally and internationally recognized programs in cardiology, cancer, women’s medicine, neurosciences, diabetes, orthopedics, pediatrics, transplant and advanced surgical programs.
