A Prospective, Multi-Center Investigation of the da Vinci SP Surgical System in Colorectal Procedures for Benign and Malignant Disease.

The purpose of this study is to collect data to evaluate safety and performance of the da Vinci SP Surgical System, Instruments and Accessories in colorectal procedures. These colorectal procedures consist of low anterior resections with or without total mesorectal excision. Low anterior resection is a surgery that removes a part of your rectum and reattaches the colon to the remaining rectum. Low anterior resection with total mesorectal excision (TME) is a surgery that removes your entire rectum and reattaches your colon to the anus to allow your bowels to move in the usual manner.
